Volunteer

Thank you for considering volunteering for Great Dane Rescue of New England. We have a terrific network of volunteers that provide the services to both dogs and humans alike. No matter what level of commitment you can provide, we welcome  those who truly have the Great Dane’s best interests at heart.

Apply

We do request that all volunteers print and mail in our application. We required an original copy for our records.  Further, it does take at least a week for non-dog oriented volunteer duties to process your application once received. It will take 2-4 weeks (depending on how busy our existing volunteers are) to process Foster applications.

Why so long? We want to be sure when we place an already at risk dog with a foster home – that our volunteers are pre-screened and qualified to accept a foster Dane into their home.

EVENT COORDINATOR: We are seeking a Volunteer Event Coordinator. This person would assume full responsibility for coordinating all events including: finding events that best suit our rescue, scheduling and contracting the event with approvals, communicate to volunteers ensuring we have individuals to Set Up and Take Down at the beginning and end of the event, coordinates merchandise and other needs ensuring they are available for the event as appropriate. Works well with teams, has positive enthusiastic approach, able to use email and texting to communicate, organized and proactive. If you are the right volunteer email info@gdrne.org.

HOME VISITS COORDINATOR: We are seeking a Volunteer who can coordinate all our Home Visits. The final step in our adoption and foster application process is to perform a Home Visit. The coordinator will work wtih application processors to determine when the applicant is ready for the home visit, using email distribution lists request assignment of volunteers, ability to use software to track status of home visits with training, and works well with others. Organization skills are required. If you are the right person for our volunteer home visit coordinator role please email us at info@gdrne.org.
